Aboriginal Visit
One Law Aboriginal Group visited during NAIDOC week. We had the chance to learn to throw a boomerang and participate in a Corroboree. It was lots of fun.

How Do Features Of The Solar System Impact Conditions On Earth?
To Tune In we listed facts we already knew about the Solar System or Space. We shared and grouped our ideas. Then we had to research to prove if our information was correct. To research we used books, the Internet and posters from the library.

Measuring
We worked in groups of three to measure parts of our playground. We used a variety of measuring tools. The trundle wheels were the most fun. We are learning to convert mm,cm and m.
NRL Clinic
Representatives from NRL have worked with Year 3 to develop their skills in ball handling, body control and dodging. We are looking forward to our next session. The drills keep everyone busy and are lots of fun.

Baptism
Father Whitty visited today to help Year 3 learn about the Sacrament of Baptism. It was exciting because Father brought the special oils, lit the candle and acted out the Baptism ceremony.

Our School Fete
Last Saturday was our School Fete. There were lots of rides, stalls and performances. Year three did a great job performing Waltzing Matilda. It was a great day for our school.

Design and Make - My Camden Show
On Wednesday this week April 10th we will make our Show models.
Remember to bring in cardboard boxes, Lego, play dough, tubes etc any equipment you will need to make your model.
We have some paddlepops, paper, paint and glue.

2D shape
In Maths we have been learning about 2D shape. We have listed shape names, corners, sides, angles, lines of symmetry and parallel lines. We have also tested which shapes tessellated. In pairs we had 8 minutes to make a tessellation pattern.

Camden Show Fire Brigade Exhibit
We had a great time at Camden show on Friday. At the Fire Brigade exhibit we learnt to "get down low and go, go, go" to avoid smoke in a building, we explored the truck and watched the rescue team cut open a car. The firemen showed us it is dangerous to add water to a kitchen fire. It spread the fire.

Conflict Resolution
As part of our Inquiry Unit "How Can We Create A Happy,Safe and Successful Learning Environment?" we had a guest speaker - Victoria, our School Counsellor. Victoria talked about what conflict is, we acted some situations involving conflict and we talked about what we could say in a situation. We look forward to Victoria's next visit.

Maths
In Maths we have been exploring number. We are counting forwards and backwards for mental computation and ordering numbers. We have played some online games from the Woodlands Kent Maths site like Shark Numbers and Spooky Sequences. We have played the bundling game and completed a task sheet with our number. Our next challenge is to work with bigger numbers.
